For this young singer/songwriter, writing and performing is the ultimate form of expression. Alaina: “writing a song from an emotion or a real experience and then performing that song to an audience is like a dream come true in itself!” Alaina Blair has been performing since at the age of 5 when her Grandfather built her a stage to sing from to anyone who would watch and listen. Soon she began singing at festivals and pageants in her native Arizona as well as Southern California.
Alaina describes her music as rock/country with some soulful influences. Her current influences include Grace Potter, Joss Stone, Norah Jones and Sheryl Crow. She met producer/musician Billy Alexander (FEEL, John Waite) in the summer of 2011 and the two began to write a batch of songs that later become Alaina’s debut EP entitled “Gypsy Girl” (available on iTunes and physical CD). Recently, Alaina released her new full length self titled album. Alaina and Billy wrote the first song with Ron Blair of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. Says Alaina: “I’m extremely excited about this record, I think the songs and the sound is very strong and is a reflection of who I am as an artist right now”.
Alaina Blair was also just signed with Opus 1 music as part of their Emerging Artist Series placing her music on film and TV for licensing. One of her newest singles “I’m A Mess” was aired on 102.1 FM KPRI San Diego, 95.1 KFROG Riverside, and in the college circuit on KXSC USC Radio AND KKSM Palomar Radio. You may have seen a quick glance of Alaina on the judges round of XFactor but was featured more prominently with Steve-o as she didn't stop singing on the new show “Killer Karaoke". With all those snakes on her Steve-o couldn't believe she did it.
Alaina and her band are extremely busy and you won’t want to miss any events! This summer Alaina will be opening for some great artists, The Motels, Casey Abrams of American Idol and Jonny Lang. For more updates, videos, and pictures also check Alaina Blair Music on Facebook.
