Theme: 70's Sing-A-Longs
“Love, peace, and elbow grease ”
My best friend Amberly Winfrey said these words to me, and they could not ring more true for this project!
Prioritizing self care has been the biggest lesson of 2020, and part of that self care as an artist is releasing music. Bringing the process full circle to truly heal and grow creatively and in life is invaluable. These songs plainly express different perspectives of that lesson.
Cause living your best life means feeling ALL of the feelings!
I've been blown away by the people around me and their willingness to bring this project to fruition. By donating, YOU will be giving me the greatest gift I could hope for in 2020-- the means to share something I believe in.
“I may not have a house, but I got a Home.”
"Home" was written by Alaina Blair and Daniel Newell. The pair have been a writing team since 2015, also writing on Blair's last album, "Love It or Leave It," produced by Warren Huart(Aerosmith, The Fray) in 2015. Since then, Daniel and Alaina have penned a number of songs together, including a batch of new tunes due to release later this year. Newell not only played on this tastefully orchestrated track, but also took on the roles of Mixer and Producer.
The inspiration for "Home", came four years ago, when Blair was approached by a homeless man at one of her shows, who had asked her to sing "Amazing Grace". Not wanting to disappoint, she began to sing the famous hymn he'd requested. Without hesitation, the man immediately hit his knees in front of the stage, with his arms open wide, singing along to every single word. The tears streaming down his face were quickly mirrored in the faces of other witnesses, who were moved by this unbelievably touching moment. One thing was clear, although this man didn't have much, he had everything he needed in his faith.
What started the writing process for this truly special song was the opening riff, played by Daniel. The mood and emotion of his playing transported Blair to that very memorable show and it was obvious what they would write about. This song is an unspoken testimony to encourage us all to take comfort in knowing the struggles we face in our lifetime are only temporary as we make our way "Home".

An infectious energy soars through the powerful voice of Alaina Blair, as her carefully crafted songs give you a glimpse of her heart. The Country artist’s love of songwriting stemmed from her passion for performing, and continues to grow through each song she’s a part of.
Before landing in Nashville, TN in 2018, Blair was among the Top 75 contestants in American Idol's Season 15. She has supported our troops overseas, performing in Bahrain, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Djibouti, Turkey, Jordan, and Egypt. She has also opened for artists, including Lukas Nelson and Promise Of The Real, Jana Kramer, Jamie Lynne Spears, Jonny Lang, Macy Gray, Marc Cohn, Jason Michael Carroll, and Aaron Lewis.
Alaina has been a nominee for the LA Music Awards, LA Music Critic Awards and The San Diego Music Awards for her album "Love It or Leave It" produced by Warren Huart (Aerosmith, The Fray, James Blunt). She released her last single, "Home", in 2017 and is currently working on her next release with life and musical counterpart, guitarist, Daniel Newell.
